  2. alleles for a given trait. Individuals
  3. homozygous for a trait always breed true;
  4. that is, they produce offspring that resemble
  5. them in appearance when bred with a
  6. genetically similar individual; inbred
  7. varieties or species are homozygous for
  8. almost all traits. Recessive alleles are only
